Ted Blenderman, 82, of Wayne, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018 at his home.
Memorial services with military honors will be Saturday, Aug. 18 at 11 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne. Memorial visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to service time at Our Savior Lutheran Church. Burial will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Harold Heath “Ted” Blenderman Jr. was born June 11, 1936 at Sioux City, Iowa to Harold “Ted” Heath Sr. and Dorothy Alice (Walden) Blenderman. He received his M.A. in Art Education at UNLV, M.A. in counseling at Wayne State College, and his B.A. in Art at Wayne State College. Ted served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1955 - Dec. 15, 1958. He did his basic training in San Antonio, Texas and served in Biloxi, Kansas City, and Minneapolis. He married Judy Matthews in 1960 at South Sioux City. Ted was an art and theater Instructor and artist for over 30 years, high school drama director, speech coach, and middle school counselor. Following his retirement he was adjunct instructor at Wayne State College, speech and drama competition judge statewide and substitute teacher. He remained an artist throughout his life and exhibited his work in galleries in Minnesota, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Iowa and Colorado. Ted was a longtime community theater director. He lived most of his adult life in Wayne, spending four years of his retirement in Pennsylvania.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; their children, Laura (Rick) Straight of Wayne, David Blenderman of Carlisle, Penn., Becky Blenderman of Richmond, Va. and Sandy (Rob) Bohrer of Mechanicsburg, Penn.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Joseph (Liz) Blenderman of Canon City, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Patricia; a grandson, Kyle Straight; and sister, Jackie.
