Wildcat runner compete in NSIC Championships
The Wayne State men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the Northern Sun Conference Championships on Saturday in Moorhead, Minn., with the men finishing 10th and the women placing 13th.
In women’s action, Molly McCartney placed 61st to lead the Wildcats, finishing in 23:47 over the 6,000-meter course. Joan Jelimo was next in 95th place, finishing in a time of 25:01.
Also running for Wayne State were Kim Lowman (99th, 25:05), Brianna Crouch (117th, 25:55), Josephine Peitz (122nd, 26:50), Sabrina Sack (130th, 28:13) and Mary Alderson (135th, 29:52).
Antoine Bardou placed 30th overall in a time of 25:52 over the 8,000-meter course to lead the Wayne State men. Jack Doughty was next in 46th place with a time of 26:19, while junior Isaias Solorio was 69th in 26:58.
Also running for the Wildcats were Brock Hegarty (87th, 27:51), Bailey Peckham (90th, 28:06), Nathan Pearson (93rd, 28:39), Nathan Hiemer (104th, 30:15) and Jesus Arellano (105th, 30:21). \
Wayne State will finish their season on Saturday, Nov. 4 at the NCAA Central Regional Championships in Kearney.
