Maly selected to NCA all-star game

Wayne High senior softball player Kennedy Maly was among the athletes chosen to participate in the Nebraska Coaches Association all-star softball game next summer in Lincoln.

The Blue Devil outfielder led the team with a .486 batting average this season, hitting seven home runs and driving in 42 runs. She was a first-team All-State selection in the Omaha World-Herald and a second-team selection in the Lincoln Journal Star.

The game is set for Wednesday, July 25 at Bowlin Stadium in Lincoln. Head coaches are Mark Watt of Lincoln Southwest and Tom McCall of Milford. Assistants will be HaLea Messersmith of Cozad and John Swoboda of Millard North.
