Loos named All-Region, joined by Wobken on academic honors

Wayne State College senior Lexie Loos was named Thursday to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Central Region First Team.
The senior center fielder was a first-team All-NSIC selection for a second straight season after leading the NSIC in batting average (.467), on-base percentage (.505), hits (92) and runs scored (58) while ranking ninth in total bases (106) and tied for 12th in stolen bases (18). She ranks 10th in NCAA Division II in batting average and is 13th nationally in runs scored per game at 1.12.
Loos reached base safely in 52 of 53 games this season and led the Wildcats with 29 multi-hit games. She had hitting streaks of 16 and 15 games during the season.
This season, Loos broke her own single season runs scored record with 58, matched her school record batting average (.467) and was one hit shy of matching her single season hits record of 93 set last season. She finished her career as the all-time runs scored leader with 158 and third in career hits with 250.  
Loos and Katelyn Wobken were selected to the 2016 College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District softball teams. Both players received first-team honors in District 7 and are now eligible for Academic All-American honors.
Loos is a repeat selection after posting a 3.758 grade-point average majoring in applied human and sport physiology. She is a three-time NSIC All-Academic selection and received the NSIC Myles Brand All-Academic With Distinction Award during her senior season.
On the field, Loos was a first-team All-NSIC selection for a second straight season and NFCA All-Central Region first-team honoree after leading the NSIC in batting average (.467), on-base percentage (.505), hits (92) and runs scored (58) while ranking ninth in total bases (106) and tied for 12th in stolen bases (18). She ranks 10th in NCAA Division II in batting average and is 13th nationally in runs scored per game at 1.12. This season, Loos broke her own school record for runs scored in a season and was one hit shy of her own single season school record from last season.  She ended her career as the all-time leader in runs scored (158) and third in career hits with 250.
Wobken maintains a 3.974 GPA majoring in chemistry/health sciences and is a NSIC Spring All-Academic selection. This season, Wobken hit .296 with 48 starts and recorded eight home runs with 43 runs batted in. Her 43 RBI ranked seventh in the NSIC and Wobken was second on the team in home runs, stolen bases (9-10), runs scored (31),  multi-RBI games with 13 and tied for second in runs scored with 31.
