Lady Eagles take Wynot to limit in subdistrict finale

The Allen Lady Eagles gave top-seeded Wynot everything it had in the D2-4 subdistrict finals Tuesday at Hartington Cedar Catholic, going five sets before the Blue Devils survived to win the match, 25-23, 21-25, 20-25, 25-21, 17-15.

Bri Hingst and Desi Martell both had 14 kills to lead a balanced Lady Eagle net attack. Cassidy Thomas had seven kills, Haley Stapleton added six, Summer Jackson had four and Carly Dickens had one. Thomas had 44 assists. Jackson served up six aces, Thomas had three, Dickens and Hingst each had two and Stapleton added an ace.

Defensively, Hingst had five blocks, Martell added three and Jackson had one. Hingst picked up 38 digs, Thomas had 23, Martell had 21, Stapleton added 19, Jackson had 18, Dickens had 17 and Alyssa Boese had three.

The Lady Eagles end the season with a 13-18 record.
