Krier earns NSIC Player of the Week honors

Wayne State second baseman/outfield Aaron Krier was selected as the Northern Sun Conference Baseball Player of the Week following his performance in six games last week against Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State.
The junior from Aurelia, Iowa posted a .652 batting average last week, going 15-for-23 at the plate with two home runs and 12 RBI with nine runs scored. In six games, Krier had four multi-hit games and four multi-RBI contests. His best day was on Saturday, going 4-for-4 with a homer and four RBI in a 15-14 win over Southwest Minnesota State followed by a 4-for-5 game with a double, homer and four runs scored in a 10-6 win over SMSU.
Other big games during the week for Krier included going 2-for-2 with a double and four RBI in a 10-3 win over SMSU and a 3-for-4 effort with a double and run scored in a 5-1 loss to Sioux Falls.
For the season, Krier leads Wayne State in batting average at .429, going 33-for-77 at the plate with five home runs and 26 RBI. It’s the first time that Krier has received NSIC Player of the Week honors.
