Blue Devil boys take care of GACC

WEST POINT — Wayne had no problems on the road Friday, jumping on Guardian Angels Central Catholic early and cruising to a 67-45 win.

The Blue Devils jumped out to an early 7-0 lead and dominated the inside early in the game. Wayne closed the period with a 10-0 run, capped by a 3-pointer from Shea Sweetland and a three-point play by Jack Evetovich, to take a 21-8 lead and never looked back.

Wayne maintained a double-digit advantage the rest of the way, as 10 players found their way into the scorebook for the 8-7 Blue Devils.

Mason Lee led all scorers with 21 points and Cody Rogers came off the bench to put in 11 to lead Wayne. Also scoring were Marcus Fertig with nine, Evetovich and Sweetland with seven apiece, Tyler Gilliland had six, Kallan Herman had three and Beau Bowers and Trevor DeBoer each had one.

Wayne is back on the road Tuesday, playing at Crofton.
