Bentjen sixth at Wayne Invitational
A perfect day was enjoyed by area golfers as the Wayne Invitational was held Friday at the Wayne Country Club.
The Blue Devils had two of its three golfers finish in the top 20 in Friday’s 11-team tournament. Natalie Bentjen shot a career-best round of 95 to finish sixth, while Hana Nelsen was 17th with a 110. Marrissa Lutt rounded out the Wayne round with a 132.
LCC finished seventh overall and were led by Glenda Vance, who placed 13th with a 104. Jadyn Kinkaid followed with a 118, Hope Swanson had a 146 and Brianna Campbell shot 160.
West Point-Beemer won the tournament with a 397, finishing 30 shots ahead of runner-up Oakland-Craig. Thurston County’s Paige Peters was the medalist for the tournament, shooting a 75.
Wayne and LCC both play at the Stanton Invitational next Friday, Aug. 31.
