Sherman Street 4th of July Parade
Dozens participated in the 8th annual Sherman Street 4th of July Parade.
"The first year it was just five kids, four adults and a dog," said parade coordinator Scott Hasemann. "This year there were 15 entries, but we count all the kids on bikes as one and we count the fire department as one when they have several fire trucks."
Over 150 rootbeer floats were dolled out after the parade courtesy of Don and Terri Hypse and Bill Melena at the Hypse's home. Spectators and participants alike were encouraged to slurp on a float in the heat.
Parade entries included tractors, fire trucks, bicyclists, old-time and shiny new cars and even a calf.
