Ronald Vick, 56, of Wayne, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Providence Medical Center in Wayne.
Memorial visitation will be held Thursday, March 31 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Ramsey Theater on the campus of Wayne State College. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m.
Ronald Dean Vick was born March 27, 1959 at Boise, Idaho to Raymond and Wanda Vick. He received his Master’s Degree in Psychology from Chadron State College in Chadron. Ronald married Janet Kemper on Dec. 16, 1978 in Torrington, Wyo. Ron was hired as a counselor at Wayne State College in August of 1997. During his long period of employment at Wayne State, Ron taught a variety of courses, served as a licensed counselor and certified professional counselor, and provided advising and other services for international students. He was the longtime advisor of the Wayne State Science Fiction and Fantasy Club, which sponsors WillyCon, an annual science fiction and fantasy fan-based convention that has been hosted on the Wayne State campus every year since 1999.
Survivors include his wife, Janet; two children, Jenni Vick of Wayne and Ron (Amanda) Vick, of Wayne; seven grandchildren, Johnathon Vick, Hannah Vick, James Vick, Hailey Vick, Tristan Vick, Kaden Vick, and Landen Vick.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
