Robert Francis Penn, 88, of Wayne, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017 at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield.
Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Wayne. Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne with family present. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.
Memorials may be directed to the Penn family for later designation.

Robert Francis Penn was born May 5, 1929. His parents were Cliff and Edna (Gifford) Penn. He graduated from Wayne Campus High School in 1947, attended one year of college at Wayne State College and then Sioux Falls College. Robert married Mavis in 1949 in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple moved north of Wayne to the family farm where he lived until May of 2017. Robert worked at Morrell’s in Sioux Falls, S,D, and Wayne Poultry and Egg in Wayne until 1955. He worked 39 years at M.G. Waldbaum driving truck, hauling eggs, and as a purchasing agent for 10 of those years. Following retirement he was an escort truck driver for 12 years with Heritage Homes of Wayne. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wayne. Robert loved to travel, visit family and friends, and attend Husker football games.
Survivors include his sons, Dr. Robert G. (Sarah) Penn; Jim (Suzanne) Penn of Wayne; daughters, Linda (Larry) Carr of Crofton and Debra (Rev. Michael-Jaye) Isome of Marana, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mavis in 2011; and sister-in-law, Adeline Frick.
