Michael Lee Garvin

    Michael Lee Garvin, 65, of North Liberty, Iowa died suddenly at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Cedar Rapids on Monday, Nov. 28, 2016.
    Services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 at the First United Methodist Church in North Liberty (85 North Jones Blvd ) where there will be visitation from 4 p.m. until services on Friday. Private family graveside services will be held at the Winslow Cemetery near Belle Plaine, Iowa.  A memorial fund has been established in Michael’s memory.  

Richard A. Koll

    Richard A. Koll, 84, of rural Wayne died Friday, Nov. 25, 2016 at Providence Medical Center in Wayne.     
    Private family graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 11 a.m. at the Pilger Cemetery.  The Rev. Dale Topp is officiating.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, Nov. 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner.
    Arrangements are with Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner.

Irene Hansen

Irene Hansen, 90, of Wayne, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016 at her home in Wayne.
Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne. The Rev. Jeanne Madsen will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne with family present. Burial will be in the Wisner Cemetery in Wisner.
Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne.
Memorials may be directed to  the Our Savior Lutheran Church Building Fund.

ValDean Marotz

    ValDean Marotz, 64, of Winside, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016 at his home in Winside.
     Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Winside. The Rev. Harrison Goodmann will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Winside with family present. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
    Memorials may be directed to the Marotz Family for later designation.
    Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne.

Gerald D. Stoltenberg

    Gerald D. Stoltenberg, 90, of Hoskins, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2016 at Heritage of Bel Air Nursing Home in Norfolk.
    Services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22 at Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. The Rev. Dale Pracht will officiate with private inurnment services at a later date. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Tomek-Otto Post 72 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel in Norfolk.
    Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Thomas Rose

    Tom Rose, 85, of Wayne, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016 at the Nebraska Veterans Home in Norfolk.
    Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Wayne. The Rev. Kyle Nelson will officiate. Burial with military rites will be in  Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne. Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne with family present.
    Memorials may be directed to Alzheimers Research at www.curealz.org or the Rose family for later designation.

Ted Habrock

    Ted Habrock, 96, of Wayne, formerly of Emerson, died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016 at his home at Brookdale Wayne.
    Services will be held Monday, Nov. 14 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson. The Rev Gretchen Ritola will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson.
    Memorials may be directed to the Habrock Family for later designation.
    Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.

Ed Carroll

     Ed Carroll, 91, of Wayne, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016 at his home in Wayne.
    Services will be held Friday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wayne. Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 10 from 5 to 8 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with  family present. A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m.
    Burial with military rites will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.
    Memorials may be directed to the Carroll family for later designation.
    Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.

Duane 'Pete' Thomsen

    Duane “Pete” R. Thomsen, 81, of Pender, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.  
    Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Pender; with Father Gerald Leise celebrating Mass.  Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4 at St. John’s Catholic Church with a wake service stating at 7 p.m.  Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Pender.
    Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
