Norman Raabe

Norman H. Raabe, 77, of Hadar, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016  at Mercy Medical Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa.       
Services will be held Monday, Aug. 29 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hadar. The Rev. Nathaniel Winkel will officiate.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery at Norfolk.
Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements.
Norman H. Raabe, son of Harlen and Esther (Pufahl) Raabe, was born April 3, 1939 in rural Madison County. He was baptized April 23, 1939 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hadar and confirmed May 6, 1951 at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Hadar. He attended Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School in Hadar and graduated from Norfolk High School in 1956. On  June 14, 1959 he married Betty Jones at First Presbyterian Church in Norfolk. After the couple was married, they lived in Norfolk. They moved to the farm north of Hadar in 1965. While farming, Norman was also trucking for Abler Transfer and C.T.C. Later on he hauled with his own truck.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hadar, held numerous church offices and Immanuel Lutheran School offices. He was a member of Hadar Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Raabe, of Hadar; three sons, Randy Raabe of Pierce and special friend Rae Stewart of Wayne, Brian (Shelli) Raabe of Norfolk and Curt Raabe of Hadar; two grandchildren, Bethany Raabe and Devon Raabe; one sister, Shirley Oleson of Norfolk.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harlen and Esther; one son, Bradley; one brother, Merlin and one sister, Marlene Abler.

Pallbearers will be Doug Jenkins, Jim Raabe, Doug Seegebarth, Daniel Pufahl, Blake Oleson and Carl Molesworth.
