CHANGE OF SERVICE TIME
James 'Jim' Maly, 86, of Wayne, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018 at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield.
Services have been changed from Monday, March 5 to Wednesday, March 7 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wayne. Visitation will be Sunday, March 4 from 4 to 6 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with a vigil service at 6 p.m. Burial with military rites will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.
Memorials may be made to the Maly family for future designation.
Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne.
James Edward Maly was born Feb. 26, 1932 in Lynch to James and Marie (Scheda) Maly. He graduated from Lynch High School. He worked at Pinkelman T.V. Repair in O’Neill. Jim served in the Airforce in Prestwick, Scotland from 1952 – 1956. He married Cissy Morrison in Ayr, Scotland on Dec. 27, 1954. The couple moved to Wayne in 1960, where Jim worked at McNatts, then T.C. Electronics and later the Gambles Store. For the next 30 years, Jim was employed by Wayne State College as an audio/ video technician. Two years ago, he moved to Wakefield to live with his daughter, Sarah, before entering the Wakefield Health Care Center in February of 2018. Jim was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Wayne V.F.W. and enjoyed fishing, Nebraska football, Kansas City Royals and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Survivors include his wife, Cissy, of Wakefield; their children, James (Marcia) Maly of Norfolk, Josie (Ron) Paulson of Wakefield, Nancy (Dan) Decker of Sioux City, Iowa, Kevin (Carla) Maly of Wayne, Sarah (Travis) Birkley of Wakefield; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Priscilla Maly of Aurora, Colo.; nieces; nephews; and special friend, Art Bruns.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sandra Maly in 1961; step-son, Daniel Morrison, in 1979; grandson, Matthew Luschen, in 2014; one brother; two sisters; aunts; and uncles.
