Duane Greunke, 87, of Wayne, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2018 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.
Private memorial services with military rites will be held with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne. The Rev. Carl Lilienkamp will officiate.
Public memorial visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne with family present.
Burial will be at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.
Memorials may be directed to the Greunke family for later designation.

Duane Rudolph Greunke was born Sept. 9, 1930 on a farm northwest of Wayne to Rudolph and Anna (Knecht) Greunke. He was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne. He attended rural school at District #15 northwest of Wayne. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict in Germany from Oct. 30, 1951 to Oct. 13, 1953. He received the Occupational Medal in Germany and the National Defense Service Medal. Duane then returned to farming with his father and later near Carroll. He moved to the Pilger area for five years, then southwest of Wayne for fifteen years. The last 30 years, Duane has farmed northeast of Wayne in Dixon County. Duane enjoyed farming, collecting 1/16 scale tractors, and restoring McCormick-Deering Tractors.
Survivors include two daughters, Lori Duffek of Lincoln and Lesli (Mike) Lee of Springfield, SD; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Kurpgeweit and Travis (Holly) Duffek; two step-grandchildren, Nathan and Jason; one great-granddaughter; four step-great-grandchildren; niece, Melissa (Luther) Wright; nephews, Todd (Pam) Greunke and Darin (Stacy) Greunke both of Winside.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dennis Greunke; and son-in-law, Ronald Duffek.
