Diane R. Borgmann
Diane R. Borgmann, 64, of Norfolk, died Wednesday, Aug., 30, 2017 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoskins. Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 5 from 4 to 7 p.m., at Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk.The Rev. Rodney Rixe will officiate.
Diane R. Borgmann was born Sept. 9, 1952 in Norfolk to Gerald and Ruth (Christiansen) Bruggeman. She attended grade school at Trinity Lutheran School in Hoskins, where she was confirmed in 1966. She graduated from Winside High School in 1970 and attended and graduated from Joseph's College of Beauty in Norfolk in 1995. She married William “Bill” Borgmann on Oct. 18, 1975 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoskins. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hoskins, and the church Ladies Aid. After marriage, Diane and Bill lived in the Hoskins and Norfolk area. She worked at Northwestern Bell from 1970 to 1981 as a telephone operator. She then worked as a bartender in Hoskins for 20 years and as a beautician for five years at Pat’s Beauty Salon in Hoskins. Diane was a fan of many sports. She enjoyed playing volleyball in high school, as well as softball in Norfolk and Hoskins and league shuffleboard. Diane especially enjoyed watching Husker football and volleyball as well as NASCAR races. Diane often attended sprint car races in Nebraska and surrounding areas as a young girl, and the enjoyment of going to the races with family and friends continued for decades. Diane also enjoyed playing cards with her parents and siblings. She was active in her children’s grade school.
Survivors include her spouse, William “Bill” Borgmann of Norfolk; daughters Abby Borgmann and Emily Borgmann both of Omaha; mother Ruth Bruggeman of Norfolk; siblings Dan (Gerry) Bruggeman of Hoskins, Larry (Jan) Bruggeman of Hoskins, Lynne (Jerry) Allemann of Wayne, Terry (Marliese) Bruggeman of South Dakota, Karen Thor of Florida and Keith Bruggeman of Arizona; several brothers and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
She was preceded in death by children, twins Katie and Matthew Borgmann in infancy in 1977, and her father Gerald “Boog” Bruggeman.
