Craig Emryn Williams, 84, formerly of Allen, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living Community in Wayne.
A memorial service will be held at Hasemann Funeral Home on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 10:30 a.m. Memorial visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne with family present. Burial will be at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery in Waterloo, Iowa.
Memorials may be given to a charity of the donor’s choosing.

Craig E. Williams was born March 8, 1933 in Lime Springs, Iowa to William Emryn and Alta (Johnson) Williams. He attended the University of Northern Iowa from 1951 to 1953, after which time he joined the U.S. Army. Craig served in the Army from 1953 to 1955, being stationed primarily in Nuremberg, Germany. Upon returning from active duty, he returned to college and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1957. Craig married Jacquelin Muth on Dec. 23, 1955 in Waterloo, Iowa. He worked briefly for his father-in-law as a salesman for the Rath Packing Company before joining his father at the Williams Ford dealership in Cresco, Iowa. In 1963 Craig purchased the Security State Bank in Allen. After working for a brief time at the First State Bank in Fayette, Iowa, Craig moved back to Allen to raise his family and serve as president of the bank. He attended the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduating in 1967. He was active in the American Legion, Allen Community Club, and Allen United Methodist Church, and served as a volunteer fireman and EMT for many years.
After retiring from banking in 1984, Craig and Jackie moved to Guttenberg, Iowa where he enjoyed time playing golf, fishing, traveling, and visiting family and friends. Jackie passed away in 1987. Craig married Linda Bates on June 22, 1991. They spent time in Guttenberg, Iowa, Sun City, Ariz., and Bella Vista, Ark. Craig moved to Wayne in 2016 to be closer to family.
Survivors include his daughters, Desiree (Randy) Shaw of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Shelly (Troy) Harder of Wayne; brother, John (Donna) Williams of Baxter, Minn.; sister, Suzanne Howard of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren, Kari (Joey) Baldwin, Amy (Mark) Brown and Emily and Ethan Shaw; great grandsons, Chase and Hunter Baldwin and Bryce and Ryker Brown; cousins, nieces, and nephews; and special friend, Myrna Roeber of Wayne.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Jacquelin.
