Helen Weible, 99, of Wayne, died Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Careage Campus of Care in Wayne.
Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 5 at 11 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne. The Rev. Jeanne Madsen and Chaplain Deb Hammer will officiate. There is no visitation.
Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery at Winside.
Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne.
Helen Ruth Weible departed this life on July 23, 2017 for her heavenly home after 99 wonderful years. Helen was born Jan. 11, 1918 at Winside to Martin and Frieda (Rohlff) Pfeiffer. For many years she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Winside. She graduated from Winside High School. A few years after graduation she married Norris Weible with whom she enjoyed 71 wonderful years. In the early years of marriage, Helen helped Norris in the Weible Food Market in Winside along with raising three small children. The family moved to Wayne in 1949 where Helen became active at St. Paul’s (now Our Savior) Lutheran Church in the Altar Guild and Ladies Aid, following the activities of three active children and supporting Norris in his busy life. When the children were grown, Helen began working at Swan’s Ladies Store. They both traveled frequently to visit grandchildren in Nevada and Colorado. Helen will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a caring friend to many.
Survivors include her children Judy (Bill) McKnight of Lakewood, Colo. and Dean (Ardis) Weible of Las Vegas, Nev.; three grandchildren and spouses; seven great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norris; daughter, Linda; grandson, Jed McKnight; two brothers, Clarence and Don Pfeiffer
Honorary pallbearers will be Helen’s children and grandchildren.
