Dixon County authoritries looking for impersonator

The Dixon County Sheriff's Office is asking local residents to be on the lookout for someone who is impersonating a law enforcement officer in the area.
On Monday at about 5:34 p.m., the Dixon County Sheriff's Office received a call of a suspicious person in the rural Newcastle area. The individual was described as a white male, about 55 years of age, with a black-and-gray beard wearing a gray law enforcement uniform and pants.
According to reports, the individual made contact with a juvenile female at a rural Newcastle residence and said he was selling unspecified items. The witness said the male was driving a white SUV or van type of vehicle, adding that it appeared the vehicle had magnetic law enforcement emblems that had been removed.
It is the second report of a possible impersonation case in the county, the first coming on May 14 when a young male driver was stopped by a white van with red-and-blue overhead lights on 583 Avenue around 11:30 p.m. The driver of the white van told the young man he was a game warden and stopped him for failing to dim his headlights. The driver of the van was wearing dark green pants and a shirt with a silver shield-shaped badge with black lettering. The driver of the van asked the young man if he had been drinking, then made him walk alongside the road in a nine-step, walk-and-turn fashion before making the young man blow into a device pulled out of a black bag before he was released.
The individual is a white male, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, in his late 50's to early 60's, with a white-and-gray, short-trimmed beard. He had short gray hair and no glasses, and was wearing dark green pants and a shirt with a silver-shaped badge. He was wearing a police-style duty belt, but no gun was observed. He was driving a white SUV of unknown make with red-and-blue flashing low-profile lights on the outside of the vehicle.
If anyone sees suspicious activity that matches these descriptions, please call 911 immediately.
