Mary Doescher, 97, of Wayne, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016 at Careage Campus of Care in Wayne.
Services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne. The Rev. Michael Feldman and the Rev. Carl Lilienkamp will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne with family present. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.
Memorials may be directed to the Doescher family for later designation.

Mary Elizabeth Doescher was born Sept. 26, 1918 on a farm in Dixon County to James C. and Elsie (Tuttle) McCaw. She lived her childhood in the Dixon area and graduated from Dixon High School in 1936. Mary married Leslie “Lec” Doescher on Feb. 2, 1938 at her parents’ home near Dixon. They farmed near Dixon until 1948. They bought a hardware store and moved into Dixon. The couple moved to Wayne in 1959 and purchased the Fleetwood Hardware Store. Lec and Mary established Doescher Hardware which later became Doescher Appliance Store. Mary was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne and the ACME Club.
Survivors include her children, Darrell Doescher of Wayne, Keith (Jo) Doescher of Orchard, Donovan Doescher of Wayne, Dolores (Vern) Schulz of Wayne, and Donna (Gordon) Miller of Battle Creek; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Chester (Rita) McCaw of Bellevue; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leslie “Lec” in 2000; one daughter in 1947; daughter-in-law, Evelyn Doescher in 2013; son, Kenneth in 2016; and four brothers.
Pallbearers will be Trent Doescher, Shad Miller, David Doescher, Doug Doescher, Terry Schulz and Patrick Fischer.
