Margaret Kay, 81, of Wayne, died Friday, July 7, 2017 at Providence Medical Center in Wayne.
Services will be held Tuesday, July 11 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne. The Rev. Jeanne Madsen and Chaplain Deb Hammer will officiate. Visitation will be held Monday, July 10 at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne with family present.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.
Memorials may be directed to the Kay family for later designation.

Margaret Wilhelmina Kay was born Sept. 30, 1935 on a farm near Winside in Wayne County to Ferdinand and Meta (Koepke) Voss. She attended country school and graduated from the old Winside High School in 1954. Margaret married Donald Kay on June 26, 1955 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wayne, the second couple married in that church. They farmed all of their married life southeast of Wayne until moving into Wayne in 2006. Margaret worked at the Wakefield Care Center and the Feed Bunk restaurant in Wakefield for 12 years. The couple renewed their wedding vows for their 60th wedding anniversary in June of 2015. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and Ladies Auxiliary in Wayne.
Survivors include her children, Rick Kay of Wakefield, Denise (Roger) Fredrickson of Wayne, Duane “Butch” (Jodi) Kay of Wayne, and Mary Ann (Curtis) Roberts of Wakefield; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Ann (Marvin) Andersen of Hoskins; sisters-in-law, Beverly Voss of Winside and Lavila Voss of Pierce, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald in 2015; siblings, Lorraine (Wayne) Denklau, Leo Voss, Howard (Billie) Voss, Loretta Voss, William Voss, Marvin Voss, and George Voss; and sister-in-law, Marcelline (Leigh) Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Margaret and Donald’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Tom Johnson, Howard Dean Allvin, Kevin Andersen, Gary Andersen, Wayne Denklau Jr., Bryan Denklau, Scott Sievers and Wes Sievers.
