Linda Beck Christiansen
Linda Louise Beck Christensen, 79, of Holladay, Utah, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017 after a long and courageous journey with Alzheimer’s.
She was born on March 29, 1938 in Wayne, an only child, to the late Clarence and Edith Matilda (Granquist) Beck. She graduated from the Methodist School of Nursing in Omaha, and later received her BSN from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah. She loved her career as a nurse and later became an instructor at various colleges. Compassion for others was her gift and she looked for daily opportunities to share it. She could light up the room with her laughter and bubbly personality and made friends easily because of her ability to show kindness and empathy and was always there with a listening ear. Her willingness to help others continued up to the very end of her life even as she progressed in her disease.
Survivors include her loving husband, Robert L. Christensen; son, Steven Val (Ann) Anderson; daughter, Stacy (David) Smith; granddaughters, Kylie (Garrett) Cardinet and Morgan Anderson; step-sons, Chris Christensen and Gregory (Stephanie) Christensen and their children Wyatt and Deborah Christensen.
The family would like to thank the best staff and nurses at Cottonwood Place Senior Living for taking such loving care of our Mom. We would also like to thank Brighton Hospice for their kindness and support during Mom’s last few months of life.
