Kathryn “Kay” Saul
Kathryn Kay Saul, 86, of Wayne, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Careage Campus of Care in Wayne.
Services will be held Friday, March 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne. The Rev. Carl Lilienkamp will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne. Visitation will be Thursday, March 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne with family present.
Memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne.

Kathryn “Kay” Nadine Saul was born Nov. 29, 1931 on a farm near Oakdale in Antelope County to Henry J. and Laura O. (Lee) Retzlaff. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne. She attended Oakdale and Neligh Schools graduating from St. Edward High School in 1949. Kay married Merlin Saul on Dec. 22, 1950 at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne. The couple farmed south of Wayne for many years. Kay enjoyed crocheting, especially prayer shawls at church, gardening, and the “Cubs”. She loved children and spending her time with them.
Survivors include her husband, Merlin; son Roger (Elaine) Saul of Wayne; son-in-law, Roger Madden of Lincoln; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Retzlaff of the Philippines; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Debora Madden; brothers, John Retzlaff and Jerry Retzlaff; and sister, Jo Anne Michaelson.
Pallbearers will be Robert Reinhardt, Bryan Reinhardt, Tim Reinhardt, Kyle Miller, Brent Miller, Josh Widner and Jordan Widner.
