John T. Bressler

John T. Bressler, 92, of New York City formerly of Wayne, died Dec. 2, 2015 at his home in New York City.
A graveside service with military honors will be held Saturday, May 14 at 11 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne. The Rev. Sally Carlson will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Wayne Library Foundation.
John T. Bressler, III, was the son of John T. Bressler Jr. and Helen Main Bressler.  He was born in Wayne on Aug. 10, 1923. He graduated in 1941 from Wayne State Teacher’s College High School. He entered Dartmouth College in the fall of 1941, and in the spring of 1942, he entered the Army. He returned to Dartmouth after his service and graduated with the Class of 1945.  He then entered the Amos Tuck School of Business in Dartmouth and graduated with an MBA in 1949. After graduation he took a job in Chicago as and account/CPA and worked for various companies in the Chicago area for 30+ years. On Nov. 30, 1956 he married Frances Louise Adams and they eventually made their home in Lake Forest, Ill. where they raised their family. They had three children, Patricia Bressler Chatt (James), Anne Elizabeth Bressler, and John H. Bressler (Suzanne). After Frances’ death in 1983, John reconnected with M. Josephine Ahern, also of Wayne, and they were married June 21, 1986 and made their home in New York City.
Survivors include his brother, Richard M Bressler; daughter, Patricia and James Chatt of Mesquite, Texas;  son, John H. and Suzanne Bressler of Palo Alto, Calif.; three grandchildren, J. Allen III and Katherine Chatt, Helen J. Chatt and Brooke E. Bressler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Helen Patricia Bressler Walker; wives, Frances A. Bressler and M. Josephine Bressler; and daughter, Anne E. Bressler.
Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne.
