Jewell Cavner, 96, of Wayne, died Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Providence Medical Center in Wayne.
Services will be held Monday, March 26 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne. Rev. Jeanne Madsen and Chaplain Deb Hammer will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, March 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne with family present. Burial will be Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.

Jewell Cavner was born July 1, 1921, on a farm near Wayne, to Ernest Ray and Ida May Helen (Larsen) Robinson. She graduated from Hahn Prep School and later Wayne State Teachers College in 1942, with a degree in business. Jewell married William Cavner May 23, 1948 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wayne. The couple lived in Wayne where Jewell worked as an accountant for Vakoc Construction. She enjoyed traveling, and keeping current with business and current events.
Survivors include her children, Linda (William) Kendra of South Sioux City and Stan (Gail) Cavner of Iowa Falls, Iowa; four grandchildren, Laura (Kris) Garner, Crystal (Brad) Schumacher, Kelly Cavner, and Jake Cavner; great-grandchild, Kameron Garner; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, William, in 1985.
Pallbearers will be Stan Cavner, Jake Cavner, Kris Garner, Brad Schumacher, Frank Sheda and Gene Elliot.
