Jenny Baldwin, 86, of Tea S.D., formerly of Wayne, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016 at a care facility in Sioux Falls, SD
Services were held Wednesday, Oct. 12 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wayne. The Rev. Jeff Mollner officiated.
Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Battle Creek.
Memorials may be directed to the Baldwin family for later designation.
Arrangements were with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Jenny JoAnn Baldwin was born Jan. 3, 1930 on a farm near Hartington to Marks and Ellen (Wilson) Bermel. She attended Sholes Public School. Jenny married Donald Baldwin on July 9, 1950 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norfolk. She lived in Battle Creek where she adopted her boys. She worked in the ASCS Office. Through the years she lived in various communities including Phoenix, Winslow and Flagstaff, Ariz., Seattle, Wash., Lindon, Wash., Visalia, Calif. and Scottsbluff, Neb. before settling in Olivia, Minn. in 1970. Jenny worked at the Renville County Hospital, retiring and moving to Wayne in 1998 to be closer to family. In 2011 Jenny moved to Tea, S.D. to be near Pat and family. She was a current member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Tea, S.D. Jenny was always very active in church and community activities.
Survivors include her sons, Timothy (Suzanne) Baldwin of Virginia Beach, Va. and Patrick (Peggy) Baldwin of Tea, S.D.; grandchildren, Kelly (Steven) Keenan, Patrick (Michelle) Baldwin, Kristin (David) Benson, Patrick Baldwin, and Patricia Baldwin; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ainsley, and Lucas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kathy Bermel of Omaha, William (Hazel) Bermel of Randolph, and Gilbert (Char) Bermel of Grand Island; sister, Lucy Mason of Dixon; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald in 1996; one sister, Margaret Moos; and brothers, Marks Bermel and Elmer Bermel.
Pallbearers were Jenny’s nephews, Larry Mason, Joe Mason, Monty Mason, Del Bermel, Mark Bermel and Bill Bermel.
