Florine Ruth Hill, 86, of Oxford, Kan. died Sunday, April 9, 2017.
Cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 20, at 10:30 a.m. at the Winside Auditorium in Winside.
Florine was born the daughter of Otto and Minnie Graef on Jan. 14, 1931. She was baptized, confirmed and married at St Paul Lutheran Church in Winside. She graduated from Winside High School then attended Norfolk Junior College and Wayne State Teachers College. After teaching in several Nebraska towns, she spent 31 years teaching in the Omaha Public Schools before retiring in 1994. She truly loved teaching and taught all her students with love. She valued others before herself and cherished her relationships with many.
Florine enjoyed spending time with her best friend Fred Hanna, her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She loved playing golf, Bridge games with her girlfriends, sewing, reading, shopping, spending time outside working in her yard and garden.
Survivors include her daughters, Janet (Bryce) Boe of Peck, Kan. and Mary Beth (Patrick) Garrity of Omaha; grandchildren Nicole (Justin) Dillner, Courtney (Bryson) Gonzalez, Kyle (Brittney) Boe, Nicholas (Sarah Norman) Rowe, Shelby (Dominic Phillips) Rowe and Chase Garrity; nine great grandchildren and sisters, Mary Langenberg, Nancy Niemann, Janet Eccher and Judy Sorenson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Minnie Graef; brothers Donald Graef, Jerry Graef and Myron Graef and children Julie, Sammy and Sarah Hill.
