Faye Carolyn Sherlock, 80, of Wayne, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield.
Memorial services were held Saturday, March 10 at Journey Christian Church in Wayne. Pastor Troy Reynolds officiated.
Faye Carolyn Sherlock was born May 27, 1937 in Clay Center to Cecil and Margaret (Urbach) Cook. She graduated from Clay Center High School in 1955. Faye married Cliff Sherlock on May 26, 1956 in Hastings. The couple moved to Wayne where they raised two children and were happily married for 61 years. She enjoyed taking power walks, playing Canasta and serving as Sunday School secretary. Over the years, Faye cherished her time spent babysitting her two grandchildren, including "wrestling" with Dana and playing Old Maid with Danika. Road trips to visit their daughter Michelle in California became a much anticipated annual event. In their retirement years, Cliff and Faye became well-known around the region for their love of rock and roll dancing.
Survivors include her husband, Cliff Sherlock of Wayne; children, Lori (Tom) Korth of Omaha and Michelle Sherlock of Stockton, Calif.; grandchildren Dankia (Marie) Schuett of Omaha and Dana (Alyssa) Schuett of Omaha; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Wayne (Nancy) Cook of Las Vegas, Nev. and Jim (Vivian) Cook of Salina, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Margaret Cook; siblings Elson Cook, Donald Cook and Mary Ann (Cook) McClanahan.
