Esther L. Baker, 92, of Wayne, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2016 at Providence Medical Center in Wayne.
Services will be held Monday, Sept. 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne. The Rev. Michael Feldman and the Rev. Carl Lilienkamp will officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday, Sept. 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne with family present. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.
Memorials may be directed to the Baker family for later designation.

Esther Lydia Baker was born Oct. 6, 1923 at Lancaster, Calif. to Carl and Elsie (Brinkman) Thomsen. She moved with her family to Wayne in 1929. She attended rural school at District #69 and District #8 and graduated from Wayne High School in 1941. Esther married Edward Baker on June 24, 1945 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wayne. They moved to the family farm northwest of Wakefield where they were engaged in farming until moving to Wayne in 1953. In November of 1956, they moved with their family to Bloomfield, where they owned and operated a business. They returned to Wayne on May 1, 1962. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne, Ladies Aid and L.W.M.L.
Survivors include two daughters, Ellen (Eldon) Heinemann and Doris (Terry A.) Meyer of Wayne; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Joseph B. Jones of Auburn; aunt Lydia Thomsen of Wayne; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward in 2010; one son; and sister, Irene Jones.
Pallbearers will be Esther’s grandsons - David Heinemann, Tim Heinemann, Scott Owen, Mark Meyer, Brent Meyer and Josh Lubke.
