Eleanor Owens

   Eleanor Owens, 86, of Carroll, died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Heritage of Bel Air in Norfolk.
Services will be held Friday, June 2 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Carroll. The Rev. Kyle Nelson will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday, June 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne with family present. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Carroll.
   Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
   Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne.
   Eleanor Ann Owens was born Aug. 20, 1930 on a farm near Carroll to George and Anna (Paulsen) Hansen.  She attended District #75 rural school near Carroll and graduated from Carroll High School.  She attended Wayne State College and later was an elementary teacher in Ulysses and then Carroll.  Eleanor married Dean Owens on June 17, 1951 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Carroll. Eleanor worked at Zach Oil for a short time and in 1968, she began employment with the Wayne County Assessors Office until her retirement. The couple farmed north of Carroll all of their married life until moving into Carroll in 1989. They were members of Bethany Presbyterian Church near Carroll until its closing in July 2011. They then joined the United Methodist Church in Carroll.
   Survivors include her daughters, LeAnn (Bob) Beltz of Pierce and Becky (Rick) Lange of Hoskins; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Keith (JoAnn) Owens of Carroll; sister-in-law, JoAnn Hansen of Springfield, Mo.; nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dean on March 1, 2013; two brothers, Vernon Hansen and Arnold Hansen; two sisters, Irma Hall and Evelyn Hall.
   Pallbearers will be Chad Miller, Cody Lange, John Beltz, Casey Lange, Josh Beltz, Levi Lange, Brandee Drahota and Aaron Beltz.
