Doris M. Marotz

    Doris M. Marotz, 90, of Winside, died Sunday, July 17, 2016 at the Nebraska Veterans Home in Norfolk.
    Services will be held Thursday, July 21 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Winside. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Winside with family present. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery at Winside. Memorials may be directed to the Marotz family for later designation.
    Doris Mae Marotz was born March 17, 1926, at Geneva to Wilson J. and Sarah C. (Nelson) Miller. She was baptized and confirmed at the United Brethren in Christ Church. She graduated from Geneva High School and Hastings College. She taught business classes in Norfolk where she met Chester Marotz. They were married Oct. 6, 1957 at Geneva. The couple farmed near Winside for several years before retiring and moving into Winside. They later moved to the Nebraska Veterans Home in Norfolk. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Winside, Ladies Aide, and American Legion (VFW) Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling,  polka and square dancing, and children.
    Survivors include her sons, Kevin (Donna) Marotz of Hoskins and Kurtis (Joan) Marotz of Stanton; six grandchildren, Mindi (Jason) Magwire, Sara (Jon) Robish, Scott (Heather) Marotz, Makayla (Joe) Ottis, Daniel (Melissa) Marotz and Brooke Marotz; great-grandchildren, Maddox and Mace Magwire, Caleb Robish, Bridget, Charlotte, and Parker Marotz, Chelsey and Bo Ottis, Anna Marotz and Liam Marotz; step-grandchildren, Katie (Derek) Fryer, Melissa (Nate) Burns, Aleck, Riley, and Ainsley; brother-in-law, and  sister-in-law, Warren (LaJeane) Marotz of Winside; nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester in May 2009; sister and brother-in-law, Lucille (Leo) Ochsner.
