Dennis L. Fegley, 75, Norfolk, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 13 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norfolk. The Rev. Myron Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park with military rites by Nebraska National Guard Honor Guard, American Legion Post 16, VFW Post 1644 and the American Legion Riders. Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Home for Funerals in Norfolk.
Dennis L. Fegley was born July 21, 1942 in Sioux City, Iowa to Vernon and Eileen (Wharton) Fegley. He grew up in the Wakefield – Concord area. He graduated from Wakefield High School in 1960. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army from March 31, 1961 to March 23, 1964. After his military service, Dennis returned to Dixon County where he worked in agricultural businesses. His final position was as sales director for Apache Manufacturing in Norfolk. Dennis married Sara M. (Born) Boldt on May 11, 1991 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norfolk. He loved golf and enjoyed 34 years of sobriety with a 12 step program. Dennis assisted a countless number of individuals to achieve their sobriety.
Survivors include his wife Sara; sons John (Sue) Fegley and Randy Boldt; grandchildren Joshua Fegley, Emma Boldt, Audrey Boldt and Sylvie Boldt: a brother, Byron (Janice) Fegley of Pittsford, N.Y. and surrogate daughters, Crystal and Carla Von Kampen.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
