Anita E. Bush was born on the family farm in rural Pierce County on May 16, 1936, the daughter of Louie and Zelda (Korth) Schnoor. She attended rural school and Zion Lutheran School in Pierce before graduating from McLean High School. She was employed by the telephone company as a switchboard operator. On Oct. 11, 1964 Anita married James D. Bush. They lived on his family’s farm in Wayne County near Carroll. Anita was Jim's partner in farming; milking dairy cows, feeding calves, and doing many other chores. She was a Sunday school teacher at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wayne for many years.
In 1984, Anita was employed as a housekeeper at the Wayne Nursing Home. When the family moved to Norfolk in 1991, she began her 13 years of service at The Meadows in housekeeping, retiring in 2004. Anita was very active in the Ladies Aid and Braille groups at Christ Lutheran. She enjoyed keeping in touch with friends and shopping, however her passion was her family.
Survivors include her husband, of over 51 years, their children: Valerie and Greg Stoj, of Omaha, Dr. Bradley and Kimberlee Bush of Monument, Colo.; and four grandchildren, Lauren Bush, Kayla Bush, Morgan Bush and Lawton Bush.
Anita was preceded in death by one sister, Lois Schnoor.
